STANDISH— Maine State police say someone broke into a trooper’s home in Standish and stole a pair of handguns, police uniform shirts, an old state police identification card and a birth certificate.
Trooper Joseph Bureau discovered the burglary Friday, and state police believe his home was targeted midweek while he was out on patrol. The handguns were privately owned by Bureau.
Steve McCausland, Department of Public Safety spokesman, says investigators want to question a woman who was in the trooper’s driveway last week. They were asking for her to come forward by calling the state police barracks in Gray.
