BETHEL — Jonah Martin has been the leading receiver for Oak Hill football this season. Saturday, Martin showed he can get it done out of the backfield, too.
Martin rushed for three first-half touchdowns and the two-time defending Class D champion Raiders cruised to a 34-0 victory at Telstar.
Oak Hill (4-0) faces Winthrop/Monmouth and Lisbon the next two weeks in games that likely will determine the top seed in the regional playoffs.
Martin scored on runs of 10, 2 and 59 yards.
Darryn Bailey also caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Dalton Therrien in the first half. Therrien completed 5 of 10 passes for 101 yards.
Danny Buteau capped the scoring with a 2-yard run in the third quarter. Even though the score did not eclipse the 35-point margin required to necessitate a running clock, it was used throughout the second half.
Cheverus 44, Edward Little 7
PORTLAND — Cheverus freshman Tre Fletcher rushed for a pair of touchdowns in the first half Saturday, leading the Stags to a 44-7 Class A North football win over Edward Little.
The Stags (3-1) led 30-0 at halftime.
