On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, residents of Auburn will have an opportunity to make an impact for Auburn schools. The municipal officials elected make decisions that impact classrooms, determine Auburn’s school budget, approve curriculum and instructional programs and determine the priorities for our schools.

Based on their responses to our questionnaire, the Auburn Education Association offers the following endorsements:

For mayor, Peter Letourneau; City Council Ward 1, James Pross; City Council At-Large, Grady Burns; School Committee Ward 1, Heidi LaChapelle (write-in); School Committee At-Large, John Carney and Faith Fontaine.

The Auburn Education Association is confident that those candidates will keep their fiscal responsibility to the taxpayers of Auburn in focus but, above everything else, will make decisions with students in mind.

We strongly urge all residents of Auburn to support those candidates, not for themselves, but for the future leaders of Auburn.

Carl Bucciantini, Greene

President, Auburn Education Association
