LEWISTON — Beginning in October, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice will host 19 flu clinics at private residential care and nursing home facilities to give flu-shot vaccinations.

Through partnerships, AHCH brings flu clinics to the elderly patients and residents.

Some of the facilities include Schooner Estates, Farmington Congregate, Barker Mill Arms, Auburn Res Care, Pierce House, Heritage Manor, The Meadows, Montello Heights, Esplanade, Lake Auburn Town House, Bolster, Pinewood Terrace and The Chapman House.

Lisa Cailler, RN, clinical liason for AHCH, has been running the flu clinics since 2003.

“I love the interaction and it’s something you don’t always get to have. People can tell me stories and it becomes more than just a flu shot to them. It opens up personal interaction and I look forward to it year after year,” said Cailler. “Overall, these clinics provide awareness and ease the worries that residents and their families may have about the flu and getting vaccinated. We care about the well-being of the patients and maintaining their health.”
