Harrison hoops sign-up

HARRISON — Youth basketball registrations for Harrison girls and boys in grades first through sixth will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19, at the Harrison Town Office.

Cost is $35 per child or $50 maximum per family. Make checks payable to Oxford Hills Athletic Boosters.

Children must have health insurance coverage to play. 

Volunteer coaches and assistants needed. Coaches are provided with everything they need.

Norway library hosting needle-felting class

NORWAY — Marty Elkin of A Wrinkle in Thyme Farm will teach a needle-felting class for adults at the Norway Memorial Library from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19.

Participants will create a felt square, Thyme Tile, using a pattern. Drawing skills are not needed. Hand-dyed wool from the sheep at the farm and a felting needle are used to create the designs. The completed project can be used as a coaster, a pocket on a knitted bag, a balsam bag or framed piece of art.

Call the library at 207-743-5309, ext. 1, to register. The class limit is 12 people. There is a $15 fee to cover the cost of supplies.

Rotary to hold seniors luncheon

NORWAY — The Oxford Hills Rotary Club will host a free luncheon for seniors from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at the Progress Center, 35 Cottage St.

The Oxford Hills Rotarians will serve a ham dinner with all the fixings.

Historical Society to meet, hold breakfast

PARIS — West Paris Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, with a potluck supper and short business meeting.

Blaine Mills will talk about the history of Richardson Hollow, a section of Greenwood bordering West Paris.

Rodney Abbott, guest at the September meeting, narrated the life of Gen. Otis Howard of the Civil War era.

The annual hunters breakfast, known as the family breakfast, will take place from 5 to 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.

Public supper now Oct. 24

EAST WILTON — The public Masonic supper to benefit the Building Fund at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Hall on 70 Bryant Road has been changed from Oct. 17 to Saturday, Oct. 24.

The supper will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Baked ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls, apple pie, ice cream and beverages will be served. The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for 12 and younger.

Mt. Blue Campus Craft Fair

FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue senior class will host the 2015 craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, on the Mt. Blue High School campus.

Crafters and vendors can rent a 10-by-10 foot space for $25. Students will be available to help crafters/vendors carry in and out items starting at 7 a.m. In addition, child care will be available for crafters for a full day for $10 and $5 for half a day.

New this year will be a children’s crafting station. The traditional silent auction will be held.

Proceeds will go toward the senior class trip to New York City.

FAYETTE — The Annual Craft Fair by the Fayette Historical Society will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Fayette Central School.
