100 years ago, 1915
Twice each day will visitors to the Harvest Carnival next week be given an opportunity to see the Aerial Howards. This splendid high wire act will be given on Main street, afternoon and evening. Their wire will be stretched from the Great Department store building to the roof of the building in which is located the Bellevue. It was not until Saturday morning that this location was decided upon. Several other places were considered, but after due deliberation it was decided that the greatest number of people could be accommodated at that place.

(Photo Caption) NEW PADDOCKS READY FOR FALL MEET AT LEWISTON RACEWAY — This is part of the large, new paddocks that will be in use during the “overcoat meet” at the Lewiston Fairgrounds which gets underway Monday for five consecutive weeks. Arthur McGee, vice president and general manager of Lewiston-Gorham Raceways, Inc. reported that the paddocks, located at the entrance to the rebuilt track can accommodate 64 horses or eight entire races.

Members of the Roak Block Tenants Association were informed of a new service when Thomas Santomango and Judy Soucier spoke to the group at a recent meeting at the building on Main Street, Auburn. The Golden Shuttle, a transportation service by van to and from grocery stores and the Auburn Mall, Is being offered to senior citizens on a scheduled weekly basis.
