RUMFORD — Among the calls answered by the Rumford Police Department recently were:

* At 6:52 p.m. on Sept. 30 on Penobscot Street, a report was received that a male smashed the windshield of his vehicle and was trying to get into the residence. Patrolman Matthew Desroches and Brad Gallant responded. A 25-year-old Rumford male was charged with criminal mischief. He is to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 9.

* At 10:07 a.m. on Sept. 30, Robert D. Lemieux, 61, of Rumford was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear, burglary, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and violation of conditions of release. Lemieux was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

* At 11:58 a.m. on Sept. 28, Andrew Michaud, 52, of Bethel was arrested on a warrant at Rumford District Court. Michaud was transported directly to Oxford County Jail.

* At 8:37 a.m. on Sept. 28, a Somerset Street resident reported that a tire had been slashed on his vehicle. Patrolman James McLamb responded. Case is under investigation.

* At 11:56 p.m. on Sept. 26, officers responded to an Urquhart Street residence for an underage party. A 17-year-old Rumford female was charged with possession of liquor by a minor. Several minors fled the area. A 19-year-old Rumford male was charged with possession of liquor by a minor. A 19-year-old Rumford male was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana. All were given court dates of Nov. 9. Other juveniles were turned over to their parents.

* At 2:48 p.m. on Sept. 25, a Rumford resident reported her son’s phone was stolen. Sgt. James Bernard investigated and charged a 14-year-old Rumford male with theft.

* At 11:19 p.m. on Sept. 24, Shawn Hodge, 35, of Rumford was arrested for failure to appear warrant on Sagadahoc Avenue. Hodge was unable to post bail and was transported to Oxford County Jail.

* At 8:18 p.m. on Sept. 24, Cpl. Lawrence Winson conducted a traffic stop and summonsed a 48-year-old Bethel male with possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle. Court date is 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 9.

* At 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 23, Tracy Robbins 40, of Rumford was arrested by Officer Matthew Desroches for attempting to falsify/destroy evidence and violation of conditions of release. Robbins was transported to Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford Court on Nov. 9.

* At 9:57 a.m. on Sept. 23, Deanna Donahue, 26, of Rumford was arrested on a warrant on Cumberland Street. Donahue was also charged with violation of conditions of release and possession of a schedule W drug by Officer Matthew Desroches. Donahue was transported to Oxford County Jail. Court date is 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 9.
