I am and have been a public school teacher in Lewiston for all of my career in education (32 years), so it is of great importance to me that the School Committee be fair, open and responsive to educators’ points of view.
I want a school board that is truly passionate about education and that understands the importance of thorough knowledge of educational issues.
I have spoken before the School Committee in the past and I feel that I was heard. I have also had one-on-one conversations with Jim Handy, and I found him to embody all of these qualities — he is knowledgeable about education, passionate about education and receptive to the needs and concerns of teachers, students and the community at large.
He deserves support in his campaign for re-election to the Lewiston School Committee.
