WESTBROOK — Maine State Police say a Westbrook couple has been charged with breaking into a trooper’s home in Standish and stealing three guns, a state police ID and other items.

Official say 43-year-old Mark Lindholm and 34-year-old Meggan Wainwright were charged with burglary and theft.

The arrests on Friday came after a burglary investigation by Falmouth police uncovered information linking the couple to the burglary at the troopers’ residence in Standish. A team of Falmouth, Westbrook and state police officers searched the couple’s home and recovered some stolen items, but not the guns.

Trooper Joseph Bureau discovered the burglary last month. The handguns and a rifle were privately owned by Bureau.

It wasn’t immediately known if Lindholm and Wainwright had lawyers. Messages left on their cellphones were not immediately returned Monday afternoon.
