WELD — Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon when a car heading east skidded off Byron Road and into trees, Franklin County Cpl. Kevin Hartley said.
Speed was a factor, he said.
Driver Amy Taylor, 53, of Skowhegan and her passenger, Logan Taylor, 21, of Athens were taken by ambulance to Rumford Hospital, he said.
Taylor told police that the driver was “testing her tires,” Hartley said.
The pair were accompanied by their dog, he said.
Both people were wearing seat belts. Amy Taylor’s 2002 Mercury Sable was towed from the scene.
