BRUNSWICK — Studio 48 Performing Arts Center will host a benefit concert featuring classical guitarist and tenor Brian Cullen at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, and at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Studio 48 Performing Arts Center, 20 Davis St.

The concert is part of the fundraising efforts for the new construction of Studio 48 PAC theater and dance.

Cullen is a native of South Africa currently living in Brunswick. In addition to teaching classical guitar, he has performed extensively throughout South Africa, England and the U.S.

He graduated from Trinity College of London in guitar performance with an emphasis on music theory. He studied with Narciso Yepes and Fritz Buss, who was a professor of guitar at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and with Len Williams at the Classical Guitar School in London.

Cullen’s support of the arts in the community has culminated in this benefit concert to help build a larger performing arts space for Studio 48.

Rebecca Beck, owner, said she’s thrilled to host this concert for the community not only to showcase local talent, but to spread awareness of the important benefits music can offer people of all ages.

Cullen’s program will feature classical guitar arrangements from movie soundtracks and duets with Beck, as well as vocal and violin duets. The concert will be presented in an informal setting. Dessert will be served.

Tickets are $15 for singles and $25 for couples. Reservations are suggested, as seating is limited. Tickets may be reserved by emailing [email protected].
