BERLIN, N.H. — The joyful sounds of The Granite State Ringers, a Concord-based handbell choir, will be filling the air at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at St. Kieran’s Community Center for the Arts.

The Granite State Ringers was organized as a community handbell choir by Mary Divers and Joan Fossum in February of 2007. GSR is made up of ringers from communities throughout New Hampshire including Keene, Rochester, Concord, Meredith and Laconia. They perform on five octaves of Malmark Handbells and five-and-a-half octaves of Malmark Handchimes, and rehearse twice a month at the United Baptist Church in Concord, N.H.

Led by director, Joan Fossum, this concert will feature a variety of holiday music, including arrangements of “Christmas Day,” “First Noel,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and “In the Bleak Midwinter.” Granite State Ringers will also perform popular movie tunes including “Believe” from “The Polar Express” and “Let it Go” from “Frozen”.

Tickets for this event are $10 for adults, $5 for those under 18 and are available in advance (at the center office or online) or at the door on the day of the concert. Membership and loyalty card holders need only present their card at the door.
