“Star Wars” is coming! “Star Wars” is coming!
It’s been 10 years since the last “Star Wars” release and 38 — yes, 38! — since George Lucas and the gang first took their galaxy of fans into turbulent hyperspace.
Long feared to have been banished to Hoth or some other icy realm for eternity, the series got a reboot when the Disney Co. bought Lucasfilm in 2012 and promised a new trilogy.
It’s about ready to deliver on the first of the three new movies and Maine is also ready — particularly those die-hard fans who continue to celebrate the movies year-round with costumed appearances of their favorite characters.
Today, we profile some of those fans, find out what got them into “Star Wars” costuming and get their takes on Episode VII (opening Dec. 18) — are they full of New Hope or braced for more Menace?
