NEWRY — The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday will hear a request from Fire Chief Bruce Pierce to purchase new Fire Department equipment, according to Town Administrator Loretta Powers.

The meeting begins at 5 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Town Office.

Pierce said Monday night that he is asking to requisition a new forestry firefighting truck.

The board will also continue discussing its efforts to install a new veterans memorial at the Town Office.

Board Chairman Gary Wight said at a previous meeting that the town has memorial plaques recognizing veterans of World War II, but it doesn’t list their names or the names of those who served in other wars.

The plaques are outside the Town Office.

Other items on the agenda include discussions on the Tri-Town Transfer Station and the Mountain View Road.
