VIENNA — Vienna Union Hall will host its third annual Winter Revels at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 5 Vienna Mountain Road.
Revels includes welcoming winter, community connections and the joys of the Christmas holiday. The sparkling lights of the season offer warmth, cheer and hope. Food and warm drinks enhance the feeling of camaraderie and warmth present during this time of year at Revels.
This year Revels will feature music from local musicians Don Petersen and Laura Grams. The Belgrade Children Fiddlers, students of Ellen Gawler, will be accompanied on guitar by Silas Rogers. A playlet about the winter solstice written and directed by Pat Onion features local children. To complete the evening, Maine comedian Randy Judkins will offer an evening of fun and humor to lift the spirits of young and old.
Judkins, one of the three founding members of the Maine Hysterical Society, began his career in 1975 with the goal of performing in every town in Maine. However, word-of-mouth spread beyond Maine and has taken Judkins to performances in the greater New England area and beyond. Judkins is still committed to his goal of performing in every town in Maine.
He has taught at Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey’s Clown College in Florida, Juilliard School of Drama in New York, and held a visiting artist position at Stephens College in Missouri teaching circus arts, mime and comedy.
Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for children 10 and younger.
