1927 – 2015
SABATTUS — George T. “Rudy” Rutherford, 88, passed away at his home in Sabattus on Wednesday, Nov. 25.
He was born in Winthrop, Mass., on Oct. 27, 1927, the son of the late George S. Rutherford and Edna M. (Brugman). He was educated in Massachusetts and graduated from Winthrop High School.
Rudy enjoyed snowmobiling and had a love of cars and RVs. He was always happy to go for a drive. He was an avid sports fan and would enjoy watching them in his spare time.
George is survived by his three daughters, Tara Powers and her husband, Jim, of Beverly, Mass.; Marna St. Onge and Dan of Nottingham, N.H.; Shawna Kirk and her husband, Michael, of Beverly, Mass.; and five grandchildren, Sydney, James, Drew, Devon and Nolan.
He is predeceased by his wife, Gloria; his brother, William; his son, George; and his grandson, Cameron.
