LEWISTON — Popular entertainers fiddler Greg Boardman and guitarist and vocalist John Coté will perform for this month’s La Rencontre at L/A’s Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. La Rencontre, “the gathering,” is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10.
The cost of the meal and both programs is $8 per person. Season passes for 2016 La Rencontre events are available. The per-event price will go up to $10 in January 2016. Guests can buy 12 La Rencontre events for just $100.
The doors open at 10 a.m. Guests may contact the Franco Center office for reservations. Reservations must be placed by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8.
La Rencontre is in no way restricted to French-speakers or even those of Franco descent. All are welcome to attend this fun monthly meal and event, as long as spots remain open. The holiday meal includes roast beef with gravy, oven roasted potatoes, peas and carrots, sour dough dinner rolls, and holiday spice cake for dessert.
After the meal, Boardman and Coté will present a special holiday performance in the center’s performance hall.
The Franco Center is wheelchair-accessible and is located on the corner of Cedar and Oxford streets in the “Little Canada” section of Lewiston, just across the bridge from New Auburn.
