Sun Journal published a story Dec. 3 about Lewiston-Auburn’s Joan Macri being chosen as a volunteer to decorate the White House for Christmas.
As she and other volunteers decorated, HGTV was there filming. At one point Macri, a retired Lewiston educator, was interviewed by HGTV as she decorated.
HGTV’s special, “White House Christmas 2015” with host Genevieve Gorder will air at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13. The show will offer behind-the-scenes looks as rooms in the White House were transformed for the holiday.
It’s not known whether Macri’s interview will air.
Macri, an HGTV fan, decided to apply to be a White House volunteer after she watched the show last year.
