WEST PARIS — The West Paris Library is holding an exhibit of Stephanie Emery’s photographs of America’s western national parks.

Emery grew up in West Paris just across the field from the West Paris Library. She has been taking photos for fun for as long as she can remember, starting with a Kodak 110 film camera given to her by her grandparents, Joe and Leone Penley.

After teaching instrumental music for several years, Emery decided she needed some adventure and took a trip with a tour company. She fell in love with that style of travel and the national parks. For the past 12 years, Emery has been running the company and its tours, seeing the nation. Her travels with the tour bus company have taken her to all 50 states and 45 of the 50 national parks. She describes her job as “spending my days in beautiful places, like the ones you see in this exhibit.”

Emery will present a talk and show pictures of her adventures at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7.
