FARMINGTON — Two local brothers are accused of trafficking in heroin following an investigation and a witnessed transaction, Police Chief Jack Peck Jr. said in a release Friday.

Farmington police arrested Jacob C. Gage, 30, on Barlen Street in Farmington late Wednesday night on a felony charge of trafficking in heroin.

Police got a warrant to search the Knowlton Corner Road residence of Gage’s younger brother, Anthony “TJ” Gage, 26, according to Peck. Anthony Gage was arrested on a felony charge of trafficking in heroin Thursday.

The heroin transaction was a “street level buy” and was less than $100, Peck said.

Both men are being held without bail and were expected to go before a judge Friday.

A conviction on the trafficking charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
