Immigration officer drop-in hours
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library will host immigration services officers from the Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday, Jan. 20. The officers will hold a free, open-office session for individuals from the community with questions about the U.S. immigration process.
Officers will be available in the second-floor study rooms for one-on-one meetings from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Drop-ins are welcome; no appointments are necessary.
Services provided include customer inquiries, case status for pending applications and general information about naturalization, citizenship, permanent residence and asylum/refugee information.

LEWISTON — The Longley-Dionne Post 9150, VFW, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at the Lewiston Armory.

Mexico High Class of 1958
MEXICO — The Mexico High School Class of 1958 will hold a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at Thai Smile. The restaurant now serves American food as well as Thai. Spouses and significant others are welcome.
Library hosting story time
NEW SHARON — The Jim Ditzler Memorial Library will offer stories, crafts and snacks during story time from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 23.
Future story times will be Saturdays, Feb. 27, March 26, April 23 and May 21.
Hartford holding rabies clinic
HARTFORD — The town will hold a rabies clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Town Hall.
Those vaccinating their pets should bring their latest rabies certificate so the veterinarian will know the pet has had a prior vaccination. The first vaccination is good for one year. The rest are good for three years.
Texas Hold’em Tournament coming
LOCKE MILLS — There will be a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Jackson-Silver Post 68, American Legion, 595 Gore Road.
Doors open at 11 a.m., and games start at noon. There will be a $50 buy-in, $5 license, high hand option and 50/50 raffle. The event will include a light meal and beverage.

Howard Pond overlook hike Jan. 23
HANOVER — The Mahoosuc Land Trust has invited outdoor enthusiasts to a Howard Pond overlook hike on Saturday, Jan, 23.
The walk is gradual, with a brief steep section at the end. The reward will be views of Howard Pond, the Mahoosuc and Presidential mountain ranges, as well as a fire for warming, marshmallows to roast and hot chocolate to drink.
Hikers should bring footwear with winter hiking traction such as stabilizers and dress warmly for the weather and carry water. If there is good snow cover, snowshoes will be needed.
Hikers should meet at 1 p.m. at the Hanover Town Hall on Route 2 to carpool to the beginning of the walk.
AMVETS hosting chicken pie supper
PARIS — AMVETS Post 777 will hold a chicken pie supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at VFW Post 9787, 58 Lower St.
Admission costs $8 for adults, $4 for kids 12 and younger.
