1941 – 2016

FAYETTE — Robert L. McLaughlin, 74, a resident of Fayette, passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, at his home with his family at his side.

He was born Oct. 7, 1941, on Wheeler Street in Livermore Falls, the son of F. Maurice McLaughlin and Methyl (Ranger) McLaughlin Perry. Robert graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Navy on a picket ship in the North Atlantic.

On July, 2, 1977, in Livermore Falls, he married Joanne Soule of Woolwich. He worked for the Carleton Woolen Mills, Collins Autobody and Bowen Brothers for 15 years. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, carpentry, card games of any kind, crossword puzzles, macrame, latch hook and cooking. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne McLaughlin of Fayette; one son, Shane McLaughlin of Fayette; sisters, Jolene Cooledge and her husband, Clint, of North Jay, Meridith Laurinaitis and her husband, Stanley, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Raeline Perry of Norway; brothers, Richard Perry and his wife, Karen, of Seymour, Tenn., George Perry and his wife, Peggy, of Ticonderoga, N.Y., Douglas Perry and his wife, Diane, of Norway, and Gregg Perry and his wife, Freda, of Hartford; and his granddaughters, Gabrielle and Addrianna McLaughlin of Turner.

He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Florice Bryant, Juanita Higgins, Dorothy Perkins and Bonnie Petrie; brothers, Paul McLaughlin and Raphael McLaughlin.
