SOUTH PORTLAND (AP) — Maine Gov. Paul LePage and Attorney General Janet Mills are participating in a two-day event in South Portland that focuses on the legal needs of military veterans.

The event hosted by the University of Maine Law School and partner organizations is called, “Serving Those Who Served.” Dean Danielle Conway, the keynote speaker, has 25 years of active and reserve duty service with the U.S. Army, and serves as a lieutenant colonel.

The event at the Sable Oaks Marriott is the fourth Access to Justice Symposium.

The series that started in 2009 aims to improve the access of all Mainers to the civil justice system, no matter their background or financial circumstances.
