LEWISTON — Works by photographer Mel Heath and painter Nancy Clarke are on display at the Central Maine Medical Center Woman’s Hospital Association Rotating Art Gallery through the end of January.

Heath, a Poland resident, is a seasonal camper at Black Brook Cove Campground on Azicohos Lake in western Maine, where he does most of his photographic work. His work spans some 15 to 20 years and includes sunrises, sunsets, animals and landscapes.

Clark, of Turner, said she attempts to “capture the essence of a moment in time with her open and expansive seascapes and landscapes.”

Her “Sea and Sky Series,” now on display at CMMC, “focuses on the horizon line and the effects of changing light, setting the stage for contemplating the mystery and calling of distant spaces. These images are inspired by reality but are created by allowing the painting to lead the way to its own conclusion,” she said.

Her work can be seen online at www.nancyclarkartist.com.

Some of the works on display may be purchased through the WHA Gift Shop, located adjacent to the Main Lobby. A percentage of sale proceeds benefit CMMC.
