1942 – 2016

GREENE — Roger Fernand Caux, 73, of South Mountain Road, Greene, died in his home on Wednesday, Jan. 20.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 30, 1942, the son of Fernand and Alma Moreau Caux. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1961, and also of the Auburn School of Commerce. While at Lewiston High School, he excelled in sports. He was a member of the football, hockey and baseball teams. In 1959, he was awarded the Normand Dionne Trophy for his football performance. In his junior year at LHS, he served as class president.

On Sept. 18, 1965, he married the love of his life, the former Georgette Marcoux. He worked for 17 years in the offices of the Bates Mill and then spent 23 years at Rainbow Federal Credit Union, retiring as executive vice president in 2005. He enjoyed helping others. An avid Patriots fan, he also liked playing cards and computer games.

Besides his loving wife of 50 years, he is survived by two sons, John of Boston, Mass., and Michael of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a sister, Constance Caux of Lewiston.
