MEXICO – The Police Department responded to 77 incidents over the past week, including the following:

* Jan. 26 at 10:57 a.m.: Officers responded to a report of an assault at Mountain Valley Middle School. Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said a 13-year old female was escorted from the school and issued a summons on a charge of assaulting a student.

* Jan. 25 at 5:11 p.m.: Elizabeth Barnett, 27, of Mexico was arrested on outstanding warrants for failure to appear.

* Jan. 25 at 8:49 a.m.: A Main Street business reported someone broke into their store and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The case remains under investigation.

* Jan. 18 at 11:53 a.m.: A Wal-Mart employee reported being assaulted by a customer. “Right now, we have a suspect and the case remains under investigation,” Hodsdon said.
