I work at Park Avenue and Sherwood Heights aftercare programs. Yarn could be dropped off at both schools, or I can also pick up yarn in the Lewiston and Auburn area if necessary. Thank you to all. — Anne.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Could you find out what happened to Matt Zidle and Erin Ovalle on Channel 8? They haven’t been on the newscast in the morning during the week for a long time. Thanks. — Gerald Bubier, Greene.

ANSWER: Sun Spots has heard this question before. It seems the pair is missed.

According to Matt Zidle’s Facebook page and the WMTW News 8 archives, Zidle left the news in October after about 11 years forecasting weather for the station. He now imparts knowledge to 8th graders at the Gray-New Gloucester Middle School where he is teaching math and science. He did make an appearance on the station again in December, and his Facebook page says he will be filling in from time to time.

Erin Ovalle left her position as a morning news anchor at the station at the end of November to “pursue other professional goals,” she said in news reports. She co-owns a dress boutique and beauty bar business in Portland.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Could you please tell me if there is anyone in the Rumford area that installs hardwood and tile floors? Thank you. — No name.

You can reach Piawlock Construction in Bryant Pond by calling 357-6994. And there is also Scott Nason Builders in New Sharon who can be reached at 779-1911.

Also, some of the larger stores, like Home Depot and Lowe’s, will often offer installs as an option for purchases made in their stores.
