TURNER — School Administrative District 52 Adult and Community Education has listed its classes beginning between Feb. 2 and 11.
Substitute Training on Feb. 2: Students will learn about school expectations, teachers’ lesson plans and classroom management. This course is one step in the substitute teacher application for the district. A high school diploma is required, college degree preferred. Registration is required by calling 207-225-1010.
Snowmobile Safety on Feb. 6: Students will learn how to properly operate and maintain a snowmobile. Laws, responsibilities and personal safety will be covered. Passing a final exam is required. Students younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Watercolor Paint Night on Feb. 9: Students will participate in a night of watercolor painting. In this class, students will receive step-by-step instructions to complete a 5-by-7 matted painting. All supplies are included and no experience is necessary. Students will receive a mat and acid-free sleeve. A second class will be held on April 12. Paintings will be different for each class.
Yoga Nidra on Feb. 10: Students may relax and connect with their inner-being through guided relaxation and meditation. No prior experience is necessary. Those attending should bring a mat, blankets and a pillow.
Making Career Choices Workshop on Feb. 11: Topics include what to consider when making a career choice, steps involved in creating a career choice, steps involved in creating a plan and resources available to help students succeed. The workshop is free, but preregistration is required.
