Winter parking in a city can be tricky. So if you have taken care to follow all the winter parking regulations in Auburn but still found a winter parking restriction notice on your car, don’t worry. It’s not you.
The Auburn Police Department went on Facebook on Thursday to inform us that an unnamed officer recently put out-of-date notification cards on parked cars in the city. He thought the vehicles were violating winter parking regulations.
“While we LOVE his enthusiasm, we want folks to know that the only time there are winter parking restrictions is when there is a parking ban in effect,” according to the Facebook post. “If you received one of these charming yellow love letters on your windshield recently, please disregard it.”
The post also included a photo of how the department “dealt with” the “enthusiastic” officer — leftover yellow notices covered a locker.
