DEAR SUN SPOTS: Local students Kendall Hill and Paul Cassano are conducting a food drive for Responsible Pet Care animal shelter on Swallow Road in South Paris. This is their third and final time collecting for the shelter, and they have already raised hundreds of dollars in food and donations. They will be accepting any size cat or dog food, although Purina is the preferred brand. They will also be accepting paper towels, bleach, toys, litter, wood pellets and any other forms of donation. They will set up in Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School on Feb. 10 from 2 to 3 p.m. in front of the school store located directly ahead of the front entrance. Any help is greatly appreciated. — Kendall, Norway.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for all you do. I am trying to find the soundtrack to “Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant,” a movie that I got for Christmas. I’ve looked in Best Buy in both Auburn and Portland, Bull Moose and For Your Entertainment, but none of these record shops sell it. Can Sun Spots or readers tell me what record store actually sells this product? I’m willing to pay whatever price they’re selling it for.

ANSWER: After searching local shops, Sun Spots was unable to locate the specific item you area seeking. Chris at Bull Moose says that they often help people to search for rare items that they may not carry on the store shelves.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a painting from S.M.J. Andre Studio in Biddeford, Maine, but I cannot find out anything about the studio. The painting has been in the family for over 5o years. Any help would be appreciated.

ANSWER: Sun Spots reached out to the Biddeford Historical Society and is awaiting a response. In the meantime, we hope a reader may be able to help with this one.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a few relatives still in East Machias and Dennysville, Maine. I was born in Machias, and I still have a chance to pick low bush blueberries in July and August of each year. I picked 15 pounds of blueberries last summer on family blueberry land. I took my bag coolers and brought them back home. I’m still eating frozen blueberries. Just for your information on blueberries in the winter. – A faithful reader, Lisbon.
