1956 – 2016

LEWISTON — Frances A. Williams, 59, of 146 N. Main St., Mechanic Falls, died on Thursday, Jan. 28, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston on July 16, 1956, the daughter of the late Everett and Lena (Irving) Williams.

Frances lived the last 29 years of her life at John F. Murphy Homes in Mechanic Falls. She enjoyed being outside on the patio, sitting in the sun, going out to eat, going to Dunkin’ Donuts most every week and playing ball with the staff. Frances had a special relationship with Lisa Lenahan and with her cousin, Nancy. Everyone knew that her favorite items were coffee and anything chocolate.

For a time, Frances resided at Oak Haven in Monmouth. Frances attended the day program at “The Shop” and loved to sit for hours outside on the front porch and people-watch. Frances was very much a people person and touched many people in her lifetime with her great big smile and contagious laugh. She will be greatly missed by her housemates and many, many staff.

She is survived by one sister, Dale Hall of Oxford; two brothers, Gale Williams of Albany and James William Sr. of Lewiston; a cousin, Nancy Sevey of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Mary O’Connell and Helen Strout; six brothers, Everett, Charles, Larry, Barry, Harry and Kenneth Williams; and by a great-nephew, Braydon Cottle.
