1956 – 2016

RAYMOND — Keith L. Blanchard, 60, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

He was born in Lubec on Jan. 10, 1956, a son of Harold “DOC” and Rita (Carney) Blanchard.

Keith grew up in Greenville and was a 1974 graduate of Greenville High School. He was a graduate of the Gulf Oil Program of Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and enjoyed a career as a merchant marine, retiring as a chief engineer after more than 30 years. Hunting and fishing were great passions in Keith’s life. He was a licensed Maine Guide and proprietor of the Reel Maine Guide Service, as well as a three-time champion of the Best Ice House Competition of Sebago Lake. Keith was also the owner of Reel Maine Properties. He enjoyed driving his BMW, spending time with his granddaughter, Bailey, and loved his Labrador retrievers, Haley and Abbey.

Keith will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor, sensitive and sentimental personality and as a man who would do anything for anyone.

Keith is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Diane (Turco) Blanchard; daughters, Amber Blanchard and her husband, Corey Toomey, and their daughter Bailey of Gorham, Ashley Blanchard of Raymond, and Arielle Blanchard of Raymond; siblings, Sharon Blanchard-Kimball of Pittsfield, Patricia Glidden and her husband, Elden, of Palermo, Harold Blanchard of Greenville, David Blanchard and his wife, Lisa, of Raymond, and Kimberly Bengtson and her husband, Gunnar, of Millbury, Mass.; sister-in-law, Donna Turco Bugliari and her husband, Jeff, of Dryden, N.Y.; nieces and nephews, Bryan McBrierty, Beth Ireland, Michelle Glidden, Jamie Glidden, Rachael Blanchard, Jessie Blanchard, Chase Blanchard, Zach Karantza, Brandon Blanchard, Blake Bengtson, Austin Bengtson, Adam Bengtson, Nick Bugliari and Bridget Bugliari; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
