BOWDOIN — An 18-year-old local woman was killed Monday night when her car crossed the centerline on Route 201 and struck a tree, police said.
The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office said Mira Graziano of Bowdoin was driving north when her vehicle went into the opposite lane and off the road, hitting a tree. That part of the road is a straightaway.
Police said Graziano was driving alone in her 2002 Ford SUV and no other vehicles were reported to be involved. She was not wearing a seat belt.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. There are no early indicators of the cause of the crash, investigators said.
Chief Deputy Brett Strout said police got the call shortly before 10:30 p.m. Graziano was pronounced dead at the scene.
Graziano was the daughter of Robin and Joe Graziano Jr., who operated Graziano’s Casa Mia in Lisbon until the restaurant closed in 2012.
