1925 – 2016

AUBURN — Cecile Marie O’Hearn, 90, of Auburn, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, at Clover Manor in Auburn surrounded by her children.

She was born in Rumford on May 21, 1925, a daughter of the late Charles and Rosanna (Hamanne) Desveaux. She graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1943. She worked for several years in the Labor Department for the state of Maine. She was a great mother, raising her four daughters and two sons while maintaining a loving household.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish in Lewiston. Cecile enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, doing puzzles and was an avid reader. Most of all, she loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her large family.

Cecile is survived by her four daughters, Priscilla O’Hearn of Auburn, Ann Hurlburt and husband, Geoffrey, of Vassalboro, Mary Taylor of Seattle, Wash., Janet Nadeau and husband, Michael, of Wilton, N.H.; two sons, John O’Hearn of Augusta and Michael O’Hearn of Bath; a sister, Irene Bilodeau of Mexico; a brother, Ted Desveaux and wife, Adrianne, of Westbrook; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Lena Garon and Alice Thibodeau; a brother, Phil Desveaux; and a grandson, Joshua Nadeau.
