1925 – 2016

PORTER — Christine Louise Huffman, of Porter, and formerly of North Windham and Wilton, died peacefully surrounded by family at the Wolfeboro Bay Center on Thursday, Jan. 28.

She was born in Dixfield to Elroy B. Francis and Hazel Briggs on July 20, 1925. She was educated in Dixfield schools and attended one year of nursing school in Boston.

Christine married Lawrence Wright in 1946 and they had two children, Stephen Lawrence and Judy Ellen. Lawrence succumbed to cancer in 1953. Christine married Richard M. “Huff” Huffman in 1958 and they had two children, Richard Paul and Teena Louise. She was the owner of Wright’s nursing home and later operated a boarding home for elderly women in her home in Wilton.

She is survived by daughter, Judy Ellen Crosby of Milford, Conn.; son, Stephen Lawrence Wright and his wife, Cathy, of Strafford, N.H.; and daughter, Teena Huffman Ouellette of Porter; four grandchildren, Yvonne Jennings and husband, Shawn, of Milford, Conn.; Kelly Kenney and her husband, Ed, of Manchester, N.H.; Jennifer Ho-Sue of Strafford, N.H.; and James Huffman of Porter; and six great-grandchildren.

Christine is predeceased by husband, Lawrence; husband, Huff; son Richard P.; three sisters; and four brothers.
