DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read your Feb. 2 segment regarding Coats for Kids and want to make sure folks remember that for the past 20 years Wendy Williams has operated “The Coat Room” in Oxford at the Oxford Mini Mall between Ocean State Job Lots and the Label Shopper.

It opens in September and stays open through the end of March, every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. There is a sign on the door with this information, including a phone number for Wendy if anyone needs to make an appointment for another time.

We accept donations either at the Coat Room on Wednesdays, or folks may take their donations to Norway Laundry on Paris Street in Norway where they will be cleaned and taken to The Coat Room.

We’re always in need of donations, especially children’s coats and ski pants. However, we offer coats to anyone in need. All you need to do is come in and get a coat. We look forward to seeing you at the Coat Room. Thanks. — Wendy, Norway.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Helping Elders Live in Place was developed to help seniors in the Rangeley area live independently. This winter, HELP launched Winter Senior Socials, which offer activities, hot soup and a listening ear to help seniors counteract the isolation and loneliness that may accompany snow and freezing temperatures.

They are held in the Undercroft of the Church of the Good Shepherd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays through April. If you are interested in volunteering your time or would like to donate a pot of soup or baked goods, please call Marge Miller at 864-5383.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for your recent mention of our local foods market, 4 Season Farm Market. However, I think I need to make a tiny clarification about the blueberries.

We do carry 5-pound boxes of flash frozen cleaned blueberries. They are harvested in the summer and frozen for winter consumption. We do not have fresh Maine blueberries available in January or February.

We have had many calls from folks looking for fresh Maine blueberries. We do have native berries in July, August and September. If Sunspots folks out there have further questions they can call me at (207)320-1969. Thank you for all you do to be a source of information. — Kathy Shaw, Valley View Farm and 4 Season Farm Market.
