1942 – 2016
JAY — Georgia E. Martin, 74, a resident of Jay, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Belfast on Jan. 5, 1942, the daughter of Charles Moody Sr. and Virginia (Harvey) Moody. She attended school in Jay. On April 27, 1984, she married her husband of 31 years, Richard R. Martin.
Georgia enjoyed crafts, bingo, gardening, her flowers, mowing the lawn and even splitting wood. She was a very helpful, kind and loving person. Georgia devoted her life to her family and especially loved being surrounded by her family and all of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Richard R. Martin of Jay; her children, Rose Ann Parker and her husband, Michael, of Wilton, Laforrest Littlefield of Ipswich, N.H., Virginia Littlefield and her companion, Jerry Hartford, of Jay, Lillian Littlefield of Jay, Mary Cook and her husband, Eric, of Jay, and Malcolm Martin and his wife, Pearl, of Unity; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; her sister, Sadie Wing of Norway; and her brother, Doyle Harriman of Freeport.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Joanne Oldenburg, Charles Moody Jr., Elizabeth Coolidge, Diane Corbet, Marilyn Gordon and Zoerdie Jackson.
