AUGUSTA — No. 1 Lawrence lived up to its championship reputation, its dominant regular season, its press clippings and everything else on Friday night, routing No. 9 Skowhegan, 63-33, in the Class A North girls’ basketball quarterfinals at Augusta Civic Center.

Nia Irving, a 6-foot-1 senior center bound for Boston University on a basketball scholarship, bolstered the Bulldogs (19-0) with 18 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, three steals and three blocked shots.

Sophomore Camryn Caldwell also scored 18 points, nine of them on 3-pointers in the first quarter, when she racked up 11 in all.

Lawrence will face No. 5 Hampden in the semifinals on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs exploded to leads of 22-5 after the first quarter and 40-8 at the half, holding Skowhegan (7-13) to 12 percent shooting from the field in that span.

Tracey Swanson topped Skowhegan with eight points.
