May the best book win

NORWAY — The battle of the books has begun. The Norway Memorial Library will host NML Tournament of Books in homage to NCAA March Madness.

Instead of basketball teams, books will be pitted against each other in March and April to determine the NML champion. Each week there will be two match-ups of books going head-to-head in single-elimination challenges. Readers can vote for their favorite titles and see them advance to the next round.

Readers can cast votes beginning Tuesday, March 1. All voters will be entered in a drawing to win a book selected from among the contenders.

Week one will see “H Is for Hawk” by Helen Macdonald, go against “Here If You Need Me” by Kate Braestrup; “The Golem and the Jinni” by Helene Wecker, will take on “The Martian” by Andy Weir.

Readers who like bracketology may fill out the Tournament of Books bracket correctly during week one with predictions of who might win each round to be entered to win a copy of the all-around champion.
