FRYEBURG – Fryeburg Academy welcomes back bestselling author and alumnus Casey Sherman, Class of 1988, on Wednesday, March 9.

Sherman’s 2009 novel, “The Finest Hours,” is now a Disney-produced film playing in theaters worldwide. His book, “Boston Strong,” chronicling the Boston Marathon bombings, has also been picked up for a movie deal with Mark Wahlberg.

While on campus, Sherman will dedicate the “Casey Sherman Collection” at the Bion Cram Library, a collection of autographed books, a piece of the actual lifeboat used in the historic Finest Hours rescue, as well as manuscripts and notes from his many bestselling books.

Sherman’s acclaimed stage show “Tales of Suspense” will be at 7 p.m. at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center. The show will take the audience into the minds of both killers and heroes alike as Sherman describes just how far a writer must go to reveal the truth. There will be a Q&A session and an author meet-and-greet following the show.

“Tales of Suspense” is free and open to the public. The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center is located at 18 Bradley St.
