FARMINGTON — The Regional School Unit 9 Administrator Evaluation Committee will recommend a candidate for principal of Mt. blue Middle School on Tuesday, March 8.

The committee will meet with the school board at 6 p.m. at The Forum at Mt. Blue Campus.

Principal Gary Oswald, who is in his 18th year in the position and 30th year at the school, will retire at the end of the school year when his contract expires.

An interview committee made up middle school teachers, parents and administrators interviewed five candidates for the position Feb. 25. Nine candidates applied for the job. The committee came to a consensus on the top candidate, Superintendent Tom Ward said Wednesday. He checked references and everything checked out, he said.

Ward and Assistant Superintendent Leanne Condon, also the district’s director of curriculum, are members of the Administrator Evaluation Committee.
