LISBON — St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 496 Lisbon St., is offering a free women’s seminar, “Just Be Held,” led by the Rev. Allison VanderLinden from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 19.
“Do you struggle with anxiety, grief, anger, boredom, loneliness?” VanderLinden said. “Join us as we discover how the reality of the resurrection of Jesus Christ can help us overcome these frustrating feelings.”
A free lunch is provided. Those interested are asked to RSVP by calling or by emailing [email protected]
VanderLinden is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, and was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in 1979. She has served in seven different churches in Ohio, Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania and Maine. In 1999, she moved to Maine with her family and served as interim pastor of Court Street Baptist Church. From 2001-2004, she served as pastor at West Bowdoin Baptist Church. Since 2011, Allison has been volunteering with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship on the University of Southern Maine’s campus.
