BATH — The Chocolate Church Arts Center has announced changes to its bi-annual Mudboots & Blackties Gala fundraiser on Saturday, April 2, at the Hyde Park School on High Street.

New aspects include beginning the evening at 5 p.m. with a reception, cash bar and must-have silent auction items. Guests will have a catered dinner and desserts donated by Mae’s Café before music by The Hollowbody Electric Band, when dancing is encouraged.

Since 1999 this quirky event celebrates the unique “mud season” as a gala that encourages semi-formal attire while acknowledging the Mainer style may also necessitate some creative footwear.

The event raises money to support youth participation and engaging seniors in creative endeavors at the Chocolate Church. This fundraiser is more important than ever as the organization transitions from primarily a music venue to a cultural arts center.

Tickets costs $50 each and are available by calling the box office at 207-442-8455 or online at www.chocolatechurcharts.org.
