1936 – 2016

LEWISTON — Carmen Fecteau, 80, of 293 Russell St., Lewiston, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, at d’Youville Pavilion, after a long illness, with loved ones by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 4, 1936, the daughter of Pierre and Odelie Pouliot Lachance and was educated in Lewiston schools. She married Paul Fecteau on June 26, 1954, and resided in Lewiston all of her life. Carmen was a devoted wife and mother and had many loyal, lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.

She worked for Maine Electronics, State Farm Insurance and Catholic Charities Maine where she served as operations manager of the food program for many years. During their retirement, Carmen and Paul spent many winters snow-birding at their Sarasota, Fla., home. She particularly enjoyed getting together and socializing with family and friends, playing cards, soaking up the sun in Sarasota, Fla., or Old Orchard Beach or gathering around the family pool.

She is survived by her son, Gary Fecteau of Lewiston; daughter, Sandra Fecteau and companion, Scott Libby, of Bowdoin; four grandchildren, Michael Bolduc of Philadelphia, Pa., Tammy Fecteau and Christie Fecteau of Lewiston, and James Fecteau of Assonet, Mass.; great-granddaughter, Avery Bolduc; brother, Albert Lachance and wife, Joan, of Unionville, Conn.

She was predeceased by her husband; parents; infant sons, Ronald and James Fecteau; and beloved aunt, Clarina Pouliot.

The family would like to express gratitude to the entire staff on Three West at d’Youville Pavilion for the excellent care provided to Carmen during her stay there.
