First Auburn Seniors to meet

AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet Wednesday, April 6, at the Hasty Community Center.

There will be a Board meeting at 10 a.m. and a regular meeting at 11 a.m.

‘Libraries Transform’ in Topsham

TOPSHAM — Topsham Public Library will celebrate “Libraries Transform” during National Library Week and Big Truck Day.

Topsham Public Library will be celebrating National Library Week from Tuesday to Saturday, April 12 to 16. This year’s theme is “Libraries Transform.” Residents may visit the library and take part in a collaborative art project to show what the library means. 

The week after National Library Week sees the return of Big Truck Day from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, April 22. The parking lot will be filled with huge vehicles for little and not-so-little visitors to explore.

The Topsham Public Library is located at 25 Foreside Road. All programs are free to attend and open to the public.

Lisbon Historical Society Antiques Night

LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Historical Society will hold its annual Antiques Night, one of the Society’s most popular programs, Wednesday, April 13, in the MTM Center at 18 School St. 

Members and guests may bring antiques, memorabilia or treasures from the attic to the meeting. While this is not an event for appraisals, society staff members and others attending can help identify mystery entries.

Those who attend and bring an antique can tell what they know about the background and historical significance of their item. Others may participate by contributing to the display table.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served following the program. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 7 p.m.

Pine Cone Chapter to meet

AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26 Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.

Phillip M. Hubbard, past grand patron, will present the program, “Weaving the Labyrinth.”

All Eastern Star members are welcome.  The meeting will be preceded by a pot luck supper at 6 p.m.

Grange to hold Open Meeting

DANVILLE — The public is invited to attend the annual Open Meeting in connection with National Grange Month at Danville Junction Grange on Thursday, April 14.

There will be a dessert served at 6 p.m., and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Musical performer Mitch Thomas will entertain at the piano. Several long-time members will be awarded with membership certificates. A Community Service Award will be presented to Justin Richardson of the Auburn police Department.
