DEAR SUN SPOTS: The 6th Annual Touch-a-Truck event will be held on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Central Maine Community College. This free community-wide event, brought to you by United Way of Androscoggin County and its partners Central Maine Community College, Advocates For Children and Clover Preschool, will be the biggest Touch-a-Truck ever. Last year, 2,800 people attended the event. Kids and the young at heart have the opportunity to see, touch, interact and learn about dozens of cool vehicles. From fire trucks to tractor trailers, police cars, TV news satellite, ambulance, armored truck — kids of all ages love the loud and unique vehicles.  There will be a children’s book swap and several children’s activity tables. The event will be held rain or shine. Adult supervision is required and cameras are highly recommended. For more information, contact Larry Marcoux at (207) 795-4000 or by email at lmarcoux@unitedwayandro.org. —  Larry Marcoux, Director of Community Impact, United Way of Androscoggin County.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Lewiston High School Class of 1966 is working on its 50th class reunion, which will be held on July 16, 2016 at the Hilton Garden Riverwalk Inn in Auburn. We have not been able to locate the following classmates and hope their families, relatives or friends can help us by letting us know where they are currently living. These missing classmates are Jill Banks, Ronald Lavertu, Kenneth Rogers, Michael Oliver, Anita St.Hilaire Stone, Diane Leitman and James Burgess. If you know their whereabouts, please contact Jackie Biron Veilleux, veilleja@roadrunner.com or call (207)333-2763. Thank you for all your help. — Anita, Lewiston High School Class of ’66.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We wanted to take time to say thank you to Cathy McDonald from the Lewiston Sun Journal for all her work in making the first Community Indoor Sale such a success.

I participated along with four friends in selling yard and garage sale stuff. We had rented a total of three spaces, side by side, and we all had a great time, and felt that it certainly was a very worthwhile event for all of us.

The Colisee estimated that there were approximately 1,800 shoppers who attended. Now that is a lot of folks with money to spend. Thanks again. We all hope that you will do it again next year.  Happy Spring! — Kathleen, Patricia, Susan, Dollie and Lindsy.
