The rain will start off light and scattered during the morning hours. It will turn heavier as the afternoon progresses.

The worst of the storm appears to be between 7 p.m. and midnight. During that period, 1 to 2 inches of rain are expected, along wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph. Coastal flooding is also likely at high tide, shortly before midnight.

The heavy rain moves out early Friday morning.
