DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Historical Society will hold its first spring meeting Thursday, April 14, in the Charter Meeting Room of the Dixfield Historical Society Museum House, 59 Main St.
A business meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., followed by a slideshow presentation by Mackie Gill of Carl B. Holman’s World War II service.
Holman was born on June 7, 1914, the son of Carl S. and Mary Ellen McIntire Holman. He was educated in Peru and Dixfield schools and graduated in 1933. He served in the Army, saw action in France, North Africa and Germany, and was a member of the Army War Show. He married Ruth Ann Newell on Dec. 8, 1950, and had three daughters and four grandchildren.
