1918 – 2016

AUBURN — Jane (Ouellette) Leblond, 98, of Lewiston passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Auburn on Sunday, April 10.

She was born in Montmagny, P.Q., Canada, on March 23, 1918, the daughter of the late Hubert and Josephine (Boulet) Ouellette.

Jane was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She worked a number of years at J.J Newberry, until she married Leo N. Leblond on Nov. 8, 1941, and devoted herself to raising her family.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond and his wife, Janet, of Lewiston, and Richard of Longueuil, P.Q., Canada; a granddaughter, Dr. Gabrielle Leblond and her spouse, Dr. Jonathan Raymond, and a great-granddaughter, Zoe Michelyne Raymond, all of Longueuil; two step-grandsons, Aaron P. Bishop of Vero Beach, Fla., and Brett Bishop of Somersworth, N.H.; a step-granddaughter, Lari Bishop and her husband, Alex Head, of Austin, Texas; six step-great-grandchildren, Corinth Adams and her husband, Joseph, Aaron B. Bishop, Rachel Bishop, Kyle Bishop, and Harper and Gideon Head; and two step-great-great-grandchildren, Chloe and William Adams.

Jane was predeceased by her husband in 2001; her daughter- in-law, Michelyne Leblond 2010; a step-grandson, Christopher Bishop in 2011; and a step-great-grandson, Ryan Paul Bishop in 1991.

The family is profoundly grateful to the staff of Montello Heights for the care and kindness they showed to Jane over the years of her residing there and also wish to thank the staff at the Hospice House of Auburn for their tender ministrations.
