MANCHESTER (AP) — A central Maine man was hospitalized for a possible broken leg after he was thrown from his motorcycle after clipping a car along U.S. Route 202 in Manchester.

The Kennebec Journal reported (http://bit.ly/1SFQCtk ) the accident occurred just before 2 p.m. Thursday when 64-year-old Donald McLeod struck a vehicle that came to a stop for a school bus driving the opposite direction with its stop signals flashing.

The Readfield man was driving in the same direction as 34-year-old Monique Conners’ Subaru Outback when he clipped the rear end of her car and was ejected.

Kennebec County Sheriff Ryan Reardon says “speed and inattention” were factors in the accident.

McLeod was transported to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment.

Reardon says officers did not observe a helmet at the scene.
